Raynes Park Transport Links

May 12, 20252 min read

If you Google Raynes Park you'd be forgiven for thinking it is just a railway station but we are setting out to show there is more to it than that.

Raynes Park has excellent transport links, making it a convenient location for commuters, families, and visitors alike.

Here is an overview:

🚆 Rail Connections

  • Raynes Park Station is on the South Western Railway network.

  • Because 4 lines come into Raynes Park there very regular trains to:

    • London Waterloo – direct services take about 20–25 minutes.

    • Clapham Junction, Vauxhall, and Wimbledon – all reachable in under 15 minutes.

    • Southbound services toward Kingston, Surbiton, Guildford, and beyond.

Annoyingly there is only step free access on the side of the station taking you into Waterloo so for step free access when coming out of London you would need to either get off at Wimbledon and catch the 163 or go to Motspur Park or New Malden (check the train stops at these not all do) cross the platform and catch a train back. Hopefully this will change but it will take years if it ever does.

🚍 Bus Services

Several London bus routes serve Raynes Park, including:

  • 131: Kingston to Tooting Broadway via Wimbledon.

  • 57: Kingston to Streatham.

  • 200: Raynes Park to Mitcham.

  • 265: Putney Bridge to Tolworth.

  • K5: Morden to Ham.

  • 163: Wimbledon to Morden

These buses offer good connectivity to surrounding areas, including major town centres and hospitals.

🚲 Cycling & Walking

  • Raynes Park is connected by cycle-friendly routes, especially toward Wimbledon and New Malden.

  • There is a pleasant cycle path starting behind the Raynes Park Sports Ground and coming out at New Malden station.

  • Also to get to Wimbledon there is a path starting at the end of Wyke Road (behind Raynes Park Motors).

  • The Beverley Brook Walk and Wandle Trail offer scenic walking and cycling options nearby.

🚗 Road Access

  • Close to the A3, offering fast access to central London or the M25 and south-west England.

  • Reasonable access to parking in and around the station and high street (though limited during peak hours).

🛫 Airports

  • Heathrow Airport: ~45 mins by car or around 60–70 mins by public transport.

  • Gatwick Airport: ~55 mins by car or 70–80 mins by train via Clapham Junction.
